What's New

It has been an extremely busy month for the garff family. We have had a lot of birthday's to celebrate. Almost everyone on Matt's side of the family was born in april and 3 on my side as well. It makes me wonder exactly what was so special about the 9th month before that. We have been working very hard and things have been stressful but we are happy. Matt tried out for the "Deal or No Deal" game show. He stood in line for 10 hours on a Saturday to participate in the event. He did an awesome job. He was cut after round one but he says he is very glad that he tried out. I was very proud of him because it is something I would never have the guts to do. I have been taking more and more children and sometimes it feels like we are living in a zoo rather than a 2100 sq. foot house. Daycare keeps me very busy and some of it is being done for very little pay because I just feel it is a way that I can give back to others. The main family that I babysit is just awesome and we love having them at our house everyday. Some people criticize me for this choice to do daycare and say that it is taking away from my own family but in my opinion it is an awesome way to teach my children how to perform the act of service and to accept other people into our family. I love the children that I babysit, they add a lot of adventure to our lives. On the days that they don't come my children ask where they are and that is a comfort to me. I like knowing that they are having a good time with these children. Matt's job is going well. He is always looking for something better but I am very grateful that we have the benefits through his job that we do. I don't think we could survive without those. He has been so supportive during the last 4 months while I have been sick and having surgeries. He worries so much about being a wonderful supporter for us even though I always assure him that he is doing a more than wonderful job. I was cleaning the kitchen 2 days ago and it just hit me that we have so much. I think I take it all for granted sometimes. It just amazed me that we have a house and many nice things that we have worked hard for. We have a wonderful family and even though we struggle, we have so much more than many people I know. We have each other. I am so thankful for that. We are "blessed recipients of goodness"

Nora's First Birthday

Nora turned 1 year old on the 16th of April and we were so happy and proud of her! She is doing so well. She is the prettiest little girl and just so full of life. She is ready to walk and often stands on her own but she just hasn't decided to take that step yet. She only has two teeth right now but that hasn't stopped her from eating pretty much everything we eat. She is such a blessing in our lives and we are so proud to have her as a part of our family.
